They got rich.
You got the bill.

This isn't left versus right. It's the ultra-wealthy and the politicians they fund versus everyone else. Bribes charged to your electric bill. Hundreds of millions for a billionaire's stadium. Schools still waiting on funding the courts ordered decades ago. The supermajority running Columbus made these choices, and it's on the record.

RIGGED FOR THE FEW, ON THE RECORD

Eight ways Columbus took Ohio for a ride

Whether you vote red, blue or not at all, you're paying for these.

01

The biggest bribery scandal in Ohio history

Republican House Speaker Larry Householder was convicted in 2023 for a roughly $60 million scheme funded by FirstEnergy to pass House Bill 6, a $1.3 billion bailout charged to Ohioans' electric bills. He got 20 years in federal prison. FirstEnergy admitted its role and agreed to a $230 million penalty.

02

They tried to shrink your vote

In 2023, the legislature eliminated most August elections, then months later scheduled one anyway, hoping low turnout would let them raise the bar for citizen-passed amendments from a majority to 60%. Ohio voters saw through it and rejected the plan 57% to 43%.

03

You voted. They tried to undo it.

In November 2023, about 57% of Ohioans approved both reproductive rights and adult-use marijuana. Republican lawmakers answered with proposals to strip courts of power over the abortion amendment and moved to rewrite the voter-passed marijuana law.

04

Maps drawn to pick their voters

In 2022, the Ohio Supreme Court struck down Republican-drawn statehouse maps five times and the congressional map twice as unconstitutionally partisan. Elections went ahead on those maps anyway.

05

Public schools shortchanged for decades

The Ohio Supreme Court ruled the state's school funding system unconstitutional four times in the DeRolph cases, starting in 1997. It was never fully fixed. Meanwhile, the 2023 budget opened private-school vouchers to every family regardless of income, a cost now approaching $1 billion a year. A Franklin County judge ruled the EdChoice program unconstitutional in 2025, and on October 16, 2026, an Ohio appeals court unanimously agreed. The state is taking it to the Ohio Supreme Court.

06

Billionaires first, taxpayers last

The 2025 state budget handed $600 million of Ohioans' own unclaimed money to a new domed stadium for the Cleveland Browns, owned by the billionaire Haslam family. A court has blocked the transfer while a lawsuit plays out. Ohio also promised Intel about $2 billion in incentives for a chip plant now pushed back to 2030 or later. Schools wait. Stadiums don't.

07

Big Tech's data centers, your electric bill

Central Ohio has become one of the country's biggest hubs for data centers run by some of the world's richest companies. Their power demand helped drive a spike in regional grid costs, and Ohio electric bills rose 22% from February 2025 to February 2026, per federal energy data. When lawmakers voted in 2025 to end the sales tax break these data centers get, Governor DeWine vetoed the repeal. In May 2026, under public pressure, he paused new exemptions, but existing ones stand. Trillion-dollar companies keep their tax break. You pay more to keep the lights on.

08

Your conscience, policed by the state

Since 2016, Ohio law has barred the state from doing business with companies that boycott Israel. Boycotts have been a peaceful American tradition since the Boston Tea Party, and the civil rights movement used them to win. In Ohio, choosing not to buy from one foreign country can cost your business its state contracts. Meanwhile, the state treasurer holds $262.5 million of Ohio's money in Israel Bonds.

Not left vs. right. The few vs. the rest of us.

When donors pay, they deliver. When voters decide, they look for a way around it. One-party rule with no accountability lets the ultra-wealthy write the rules, and the rest of Ohio gets the bill.

AND IN WASHINGTON

Protecting the powerful. Punishing everyone else.

These aren't opinions. They're documented facts about what our federal government is doing right now.

09

Tax cuts at the top. Cuts for everyone else.

The 2025 federal budget law extended tax cuts that mostly benefit the wealthiest while cutting Medicaid by roughly $1 trillion over ten years. The Congressional Budget Office estimated 10 million more Americans will be uninsured by 2034, and found the poorest households come out behind while the richest gain the most.

10

Women's rights, stripped away

Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, about a dozen states have banned nearly all abortions. ProPublica has documented women who died after doctors delayed care under those bans. Ohio voters protected these rights in 2023. Lawmakers are still trying to get around that vote.

11

Federal agents killing U.S. citizens

Immigration detention hit record levels in 2025, and ICE reported 33 deaths in custody, its deadliest year in two decades. ProPublica found more than 170 U.S. citizens detained by immigration agents. In January 2026, federal immigration agents shot and killed two U.S. citizens in Minneapolis, Renee Good and Alex Pretti.

12

They're watching all of us

In 2025, the IRS began handing taxpayers' home addresses to ICE, until a federal appeals court upheld an order blocking it in September 2026. ICE contracted with Palantir, a company co-founded by billionaire Peter Thiel, to build software for tracking people, and its agents use a facial-recognition app in the field. The data you hand the government is being turned into a surveillance tool.

WHY I BUILT THIS

I'm one Ohioan. This is my domain. Here's why.

I don't trust government, any of it. But what's happening right now is something different. I watched January 6th happen. I watched a man convicted of 34 felonies and found liable for sexual abuse return to power. The corruption isn't hidden anymore. It's out in the open, and here in Ohio we've seen our own version of it.

I run a small business here. When fuel prices spike, I feel it immediately. I pay tariffs on the supplies I need and see nothing back for it. And every year, I pay a higher tax rate than many billionaires do. That's not a feeling. A 2021 White House analysis found the 400 wealthiest families paid an average federal income tax rate of about 8%. Health insurance costs more every year and covers less. Regular people are watched, squeezed and nickel-and-dimed, while the ultra-wealthy write the rules.

Here's what really set me off. Going to a Browns game cost me thousands of dollars: tickets, parking, food, all of it. That's straight robbery. And on top of what fans already pay, Ohio lawmakers voted to hand $600 million of Ohioans' unclaimed money to a new stadium for the billionaire family that owns the team. We pay at the gate, and we pay again with our tax dollars.

And I won't stay quiet about where our money goes. We send Israel about $3.8 billion a year in military aid, plus billions more since 2023. Israel guarantees health care to every citizen. Here, we're told there's no money for ours, or for our schools. UNICEF says more than 64,000 children in Gaza have been killed or injured, and children are still being killed even after the ceasefire. Children in hospital beds, in schools, in tents, in their parents' arms. American bombs, paid for with American tax dollars, including mine.

The land grab isn't a theory. In 2024, the International Court of Justice ruled Israel's occupation of Palestinian territory unlawful and its settlements illegal. Israeli ministers have openly called for resettling Gaza. Our own president floated taking it over as beachfront property. War makes fortunes for defense contractors and the people who start the fighting. The rest of us pay for it, and children pay with their lives. Most Americans are done with it. I want our tax dollars to come home: to our schools, our health care, our communities.

And we're losing more than money. We're losing who we are. We used to be the country the world looked up to. Now our oldest allies trust us less every year, and in 2026 Pew Research found that across 36 countries, a median of just 37% view the United States favorably. Americans are more divided and more alone than ever. It could take years to come back from this, if we ever do.

So where is the kindness? Where is the love for our neighbors? What I see from the people in charge is mostly lies, fear and hate, aimed down at regular people, while billionaires protect themselves at any cost. That isn't who we're supposed to be. Most Americans I know are decent, generous people. Our government should be too.

I'm not telling you who to vote for. I'm telling you what I see, with the receipts. You decide. But please, decide. Look at the record, look at who's on your ballot, and ask who's actually working for you. I can't change the country by myself. Neither can you. Together, we can.

Not in my name.

Your vote is the change.
